Artist Statement
I take photos of old run down doors and buildings. I’m fascinated by the patterns of rot and decay that form on them. My frames are created with this relationship in mind. The wood and the photograph are one in the same. I capture architecture that is overgrown, forgotten, and waiting to deteriorate back into earth. These old doors and buildings interest me, because they’re mysterious. I’m always wondering who’s passed through, what they’ve witnessed, and what is on the other side. I capture places that people pass by without taking a second look. But do it in a beautiful way, that make people want to be more aware and hunt for these abandoned places.
